01.03.09 - I just wanted to check in with everybody to let them know that despite some evil hags trying to steal my jar of dice, everybody at the Junk Pirate team is working hard and making Junk Pirate better than ever in 2009. We have a new issue due out soon, some new art projects and perhaps an exhibition coming at the end of the year, and the Tales from the Junk Store blog is being updated almost daily. Keep one eye open and locked onto JunkPirate.com. I've also added a new color image of some JP artwork that was recently exhibited.

07.16.08 - The Junk Pirate Blog is up with new posts at every possible moment. See full color pictures of all the awesome junk store treasure that isn't xeroxable. It is like Junk Pirate 3D, with commentary, junk pirate archive photos, and lots of other found madness.
Tales from the Junk Store - bookmark it, baby.

06.07.08 - As promised, Junk Pirate #16 is now available online and soon in your favorite zine outlet. The price is two bucks, but you if you buy it direct it is only one dollar per copy. Each direct order comes with some free Junk Pirate postcards. I'm already knee-deep in good bits for the next issue, so with a little luck and some quality donations, we should have that one out around September. Enjoy or go die.

05.30.08 - Sorry for not updating this for almost a year. Junk Pirate is still with you. The postcard set is out now and available online at the Rowan Morrison online shop.
And coming very soon is Junk Pirate issue #16. It's done, I just need to print it up and staple it together. A whopping 22 pages this time around. I'll be filling all the backed-up orders for #15 (sorry about that) and adding it to the site here in just a few weeks. Awesome!
Oh yeah, I was only getting creepy prisoner letters in the old P.O. Box, so now we have a new address:
330 40th St, Oakland, CA 94609.

08.20.07 - Junk Pirate is now available at the super-periodical shop Issues in Oakland.
Also coming real soon is the Junk Pirate postcard set. It'll be available online and in better papergoods stores in September so check 'em out.

06.22.07 - Junk Pirate #15 is out right now. Get your copy direct at the discounted price of only $1.00 each (plus shipping).
Check out my 2-minute time lapse of the making of Junk Pirate #15 on the right or here.

05.24.07 - Junk Pirate volume one is now being distributed through Microcosm Publishing and Parcell Press. Issue #15 will be available in the first week of June. Thank you for your patience to the couple of pre-orders I got a while back. Also, if you're into art books and self-publishing, check out my new Art Books blog.

03.07.07 - Marty Weil's ephemera blog recently posted an interview with me about Junk Pirate and its possible implications. I got so long winded that he has recently posted two other blogs as sub-topics of our original interview. Also check out all of the other amazing posts on his blog - we're talking cereal box collectors, horror paperbacks, 80s ephemera, funeral-abilia collections. Awesome stuff. Get in on the comments, folks.

02.27.07 - Some left-overs from the Junk Pirate Art Exhibition will be showing as part of the Swee(t)art group show curated by Obi Kaufmann. It's at Red Ink Studios in SF (9th & Market) and the opening is Thursday, March 1st. It will also be open on March 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th. Also featuring that art of Carl Auge, Alex Rosemarin, Brian Caraway, Lexa Walsh, Bert Bergan, and others. Represent.

Oh yeah, Junk Pirate volume one is now available at Twig and Fig in Berkeley.

02.03.07 - The Junk Pirate book was recently reviewed in the lastest issue of ReadyMade magazine (#27). Awesome.
I'm also excited to announce that the Junk Pirate book is being carried by the Giant Robot family of stores (GR2, GRSF, GRNY). And Pendragon books in Oakland.

01.18.06 - Here (and here, here, and over here) are some fresh images of the recent Junk Pirate Art Exhibition with more in the image area, and also some over at rowanmorrison.com. I'll try to get more artwork images from the show up here soon.
A few more spaces will have the Junk Pirate book available presently or soon. Little Paper Planes online, Bows and Arrows in Berkeley, Park Life in SF, Needles & Pens in the Mission. If you are anybody you know wants to sell the greatest book I've ever published, contact me for wholesale info at junkpirate[at]peteglover.com.

01.03.06 - Happy New Year. The Junk Pirate book is officially available at Quimby's in Chicago and Atomic Books in Baltimore. With more spots coming soon. I'll keep you posted.
The Art Exhibition is down and if you bought some art, come and pick 'er up. I'm going to be distributing the left-overs (that I don't care enough to save) throughout East Bay junk stores and scrap piles so keep your eyes open.

12.16.06 - More write-ups and write-offs coming at you. The East Bay Express calls the Junk Pirate Art Exhibition "both pleasingly familiar and uncomfortably disconcerting" in this link. The Piedmont Post (a subscription-only newspaper with a circulation of about 25 for the isolated, wealthy town of Piedmont) called the show "genius" (no link). And Isaac posted many wonderful photos of the opening reception in his blog on fecalface.com.
In other news, Last Gasp is officially distributing the Junk Pirate book worldwide. If you would kindly post a positive comment for the book on their website I will thank you.

12.3.06 - The Junk Pirate Art Exhibition opening reception and book release blow-out was a huge success and I would like to thank everybody who came out for the show. A big thanks to those who "rolled the dice". Only one item was stolen! I'll have some show photos soon.
The show is only up until Christmas eve, so don't miss it. Special thanks to Narangkar, Tonya, the Jammer, Nic, Ash, JD, and everybody I talked with on Friday night. No thanks to those two geezers who come to the openings just to eat all my food and drink my booze.

11.11.06 - The Junk Pirate book is due out on the 1st of December. 168 pages of the greatest images from issues #1-12, plus some stuff you have never seen before. You can order it in the online store.
Also coming is the huge Junk Pirate Art Exhibition. Featuring literally thousands of unique items all for sale. The show kicks off on Friday, Decemeber 1st and lasts until the 24th at Rowan Morrison Gallery in Oakland. There is a reception and book release party there on December 1st from 7-10pm. Junk Pirate unite!

11.10.06 - www.junkpirate.com just got the big update. Now it features an online shop, back issues cover info, exclusive color scans and pictures, and this here news section.
If all goes according to plan, I'll post updates and links (like this) to new images and whatnot regularly. Worst comes to worst, you can re-read this post over and over.
